About
We're building credit
Nigeria can trust.
XCred is the product of Alan Innovations Limited, a CAC-registered Nigerian company. We started in Uyo, Akwa Ibom, with a simple belief: most Nigerians are creditworthy. They just need someone to give them the chance to prove it.
Why we started.
In 2024, the founder watched a teacher in Uyo cancel a small business dream because she couldn't buy a ₦180,000 sewing machine without draining her family's entire savings. She had income. She had discipline. She had a plan. What she didn't have was credit.
The Nigerian credit market is broken at the bottom. The middle is locked out. The top is over-served. And the patterns of income — quarterly contracts, monthly salaries, commission swings — don't fit any imported BNPL playbook.
So we're building one from scratch. For our own market. For our own income patterns. With our own definition of trust.
What we believe
Four things we will not compromise on.
Transparency over hype.
We show every fee, every rate, every term upfront. If it's not in the calculator, we don't charge it.
Trust before scale.
Nigerians have been burned by scams. We'd rather grow slowly with the right reputation than fast with the wrong one.
Repayment is a relationship.
We're not in the business of harassment. We talk to customers in real hardship. We extend, restructure, or pause — based on what's fair.
Credit is a path to dignity.
Access to credit shouldn't depend on who you know. It should depend on whether you can be trusted. We're building the proof.
Where we're starting
Uyo first. Then everywhere.
We're launching in Uyo, Akwa Ibom — close to home, close to customers, close to merchants we already know. Once we've proven the model here, we'll expand across Akwa Ibom, then to the rest of the South-South, and then nationwide.
